2023/2024 Fundraising Goal

The 2022/2023 year saw the unexpected removal of the old wooden Lower Playground play structure.
Surplus from decreased spending during the pandemic and exceptional community involvement in events and fundraisers allowed the MPAC to fund a new play structure set to be completed Fall 2023.

This year, the MPAC will be looking to tackle additional improvement projects on top of the existing classroom and program enhancements.
To participate in the conversation on how to spend MPAC funds, attend our meetings held for an hour once a month.
  • Our fundraising goal for this year is $37,300.  The detailed MPAC financial statements can be viewed here.
  • Our MPAC budget allows the school to offer our children additional resources for the classrooms that go beyond the basic needs of the Ministry mandated curriculum. It provides our children with more opportunities for hands on activities and helps to improve student engagement in the classroom.
  • Our plans for this year will ensure that the MPAC continues to provide the same benefits and services that you've been accustomed to.  As well, our operating budget always has the future in mind as we continue to allocate funds to reserves for improvements to both playground and technology.
  • If each family donated at least $30 per student, we would easily reach our goal. These enhancements are not possible without the support of the entire school community. Together we can enrich our children's education and school experience.

The MPAC follows Policy 413: Corporate Sponsorships, Partnerships and Advertising in Schools.  Decisions on the methods of raising funds for the school shall be made in consultation with the school’s principal in accordance with School District policies and procedures.

The money that the MPAC raises has a huge impact on school life.  It enables the MPAC to fund a multitude of services,
events, programs, and equipment that enrich school life and excite children about their school experience. The PAC raises this money in several different ways:
  • Fundraisers Events - Christmas Market, Welcome Back BBQ, Family Nights and more.
  • Hot Lunch - restaurants provide meals at wholesale prices, the MPAC sell the items with a small mark-up to make a profit.
  • Direct Donations  – families donate money directly to the MPAC. Read more>>
  • Provincial Gaming Grant – each year the MPAC Treasurer applies for a Provincial Gaming Grant.  Although it is a huge benefit when it is received, it is not guaranteed every year. Read more>>
Fundraising by the Montroyal PAC supports a whole range of expenditures that are a big part of your child's daily experiences at school. Official school operating budgets can keep the school running, but they don't leave room for extras. PAC support provides bigger items like laptops and new playground equipment. It also supports cultural performances at the school and supplements class supply spending for teachers. We aim to be judicious in our requests for funding from our parents, but it is essential that we receive this support. Thanks to each of you for your contributions - as well as to those who also give generously with their time at our activities and events!
