Welcome to October!! This is an exciting month for us...we start the month of with a busy week: Picture day on Wednesday and Harvest Lunch on Friday!!  We hope that you have a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend ahead and find some time to relax with your family.

​We encourage everyone to walk, scooter, ride, skip or roll to school.​ This is a perfect opportunity to connect with your child(ren), create an opportunity to meet a new friend and have fun...all while doing our part to help the earth.

Harvest Lunch 2018

This year Harvest Lunch will be done differently than prior years.  Each student will bring in their own lunch on Friday and will be divided into groups (Gr 1-7) and enjoy their meals as a "family".  The Kindergarteners will stay in their class with their teacher.  Each group will be working together to create a hamper as a donation.  You should have received a list on Friday (check the backpack) that will give you suggestions.

Scholastic Book Fair Volunteers needed!

Scholastic Book Fair is returning to Montroyal October 16/17.  This school fundraiser relies heavily on Volunteers and cannot happen without YOUR help.  Many opportunities to help: big and small, are available starting now until October 18.  Pre-Fair activities include hanging posters, preparing decorations, book display cabinet and boards set up, basic graphic design, and many more.  Please click on the following link to sign up. 

Fall Programs at Montroyal

Register Today! Chess and Basketball started last week!!(but you can still register).
We have a variety of Programs for your child this Fall during lunch, before and after-school, including:
  • before school chess for primaries and intermediates
  • lunch-time basketball for primaries and intermediates
  • Montroyal After-School Club by Rec Center for primaries and intermediates (Registration open NOW)
  • after-school Mandarin for early primaries
  • after-school BrainStem for primaries and intermediates

TIP: Enrol in the After-School Club and BrainSTEM to take care of your after-school child care needs including enrichment.  Monday to Friday,  all ages!

Handsworth Rebuild Updates

​Announced Jan 2018 Handsworth will be fully rebuilt with a competition date of Aug 2021. The $62.3 million project is a collaborative effort by SD44, School Board, Ministry of Education and the DNV. The project does not include the sports field, furniture or outdoor lighting.
