Week of February 20th, 2017February 22 Pink Shirt Day![]() There will be an assembly first thing in the morning organized by Mrs. Teegen's class. Parents are welcome to attend.
We encourage all students to parade their pink shirts as they walk to school and if you live too far, park 5 minutes away to join the parade. The Nova Scotia students who started the movement took a stand, let our students STOMP out bullying by walking united together. Brad Baker, District Principal will discuss how the NVSD works to ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment for students. Cpl. Marlies Dick of the RCMP Youth Intervention Unit (YIU) will provide information on how their organization liaises with schools and the community in developing strategies to deal with safety issues. Do you like Money?The MPAC is looking for a Treasurer for the 2017-2018 school year.
The job requires :
The role can be shared between 2 parents and can be done in the evenings and weekends. The time commitment is approximately 8 hours per week. Our existing treasurer who has been in the role for 3 years has a child in grade 7 and would like to provide a smooth hand off to his successor. The Montroyal Grade 7 students will be fundraising with Purdy's Chocolates. This program gives 25% of the sales back to the class for grad activities. Brochures will be coming home in the next few days.
Deadline for orders is March 31st and pick up at the school will be Friday April 7th. Please place all orders on line. Vessey's Fundraiser![]() IIt is hard to believe that spring is around the corner! The MPAC would like to assist in making your garden beautiful through our Vesey's Fundraiser.
Check your child's backpack for instructions and brochure. 50% of the proceeds go to the MPAC which provide educational enhancements to our children. Complete the order forms and make all payments to "MPAC". Deposit both in an envelope into the mailbox located in the front lobby by March 1st, 2017. Extra order forms are at the office beside the sign-out sheet. Orders are delivered to the school for pick up late April / early May. With this amazing profit margin, it's worth sharing with friends and family because it is your child who has the most to gain. March 2 Parent Education Night - Decoding DyslexiaMarch 6 Strings ExtraveganzaThe tickets are online for the March 6th show ($11 for adults, $5 for students and children 6 or older; children under 6 will get in for free--although seats need to be reserved, therefore tickets need to be be issued). Performers are FREE.
